They were good, but not for very long, and certainly not after the drummer left.
They were old hat as far back as 1985 when appearing at Live Aid.
They've always been dog shite
End of the play off final against QPR when we sang that Quo song was classic
I went to Live Aid. On the bus going there from Cardiff was a big bloke in a denim jacket with Quo badges all over it.
After the euphoria of the concert and the excitement of getting back to the coach etc after what we all knew was a historical iconic moment that we had all shared in, the big guy got on the bus and said it was total utter sh1t except for Quo but Queen were alright.
Good to know that in a historic day of 12 hours of music this guy enjoyed 10 minutes.
Mind you he was right about Adam Ant
Caroline , down down they did some great songs
But in the army now is one of the worst songs of all time
Cardiff Castle - 1975 I think. Magic
Yes, Saw them in July 1976 along with Budgie, Curved Air, The Strawbs and Hawkwind. The band played an excellent headling set. Top Notch. Got to say Hawkwind were the best band on that day tho', led by the late great Robert Calvert
Saw them the following year at the Capitol Theatre in Cardiff the following year, and once again they were excellent.

Great gig at the Capital early stuff was very new and good loved "down the dustpipe"" UK Canned Heat vibe.
An interview with the band at Cardiff Castle, July '76
Came across it earlier, never seen it before

They were never good.
They were sometimes OK in the early years.
In around 1976 I recall walking alongside Cardiff Castle and it sounded like Quo were playing. I walked straight in without paying and heard most of their set. The same three chords were used for just about every number. Later on their one departure from the usual chords was "In the Army Now"which, as mentioned above, is truly awful. Not a fan.
