I didn't know who Rob Cross was. Had to Google him.
Daryl Gurney 33/1 as an e/w bet.
Don't know if you follow Ochepedia on Twitter, but some of Cross's stats have been quite remarkable.
Ranked 4th for treble 20 and 19 accuracy, behind MVG, Anderson and Taylor
Ranked 5th for legs won with 12 darts or less, behind MVG, Anderson, Chisnall and Lewis
Ranked 1st for bullseye checkout % and 100+ checkouts.
His average 3 dart average is just behind MVG and Anderson. He also thrashed MVG 6-2 in the European Open.
The only thing he lacks is experience on the big stage, yet he's appeared in a TV final. Without doubt the next big challenger for MVG if he keeps progressing.
The muncher has been Munched.
Adrian Lewis losing to Kevin Munch.
My old man couldn't believe the support for Munch, and how much they were booing Lewis.
Agreed.
It might also be worth considering that Barney was 32nd seed for the World Championship after his first season in the PDC. Cross is 20th seed after his first season.
He has to be a shoe-in for the Premier League. That'll teach him a lot in a short space of time!
Lewis isn't well liked due to some of his previous antics and whinges. Walking off stage against Manley 12 years ago didn't endear him to crowds and things have barely improved since. That evening he reckoned Manley was whispering things behind his back when he was throwing.
Manley, allegedly (apparently he tells the story of this from time to time in exhibitions) was saying to Lewis how he was going to pump his mother! No wonder he got wound up. I think he was still a teenager at the time.
What happened to Paul Nicholson? He was a decent player a few seasons back. Used to try and act the villain on stage, but made himself look a bit daft imo.
The problem is if youre going to play such a character youve got to be able to back it up with ability. Nicholson couldnt do that.
I did chuckle when he waved Taylor off when he beat him for the one and only time on stage
He now commentates on some tournaments for ITV / BBC.
Kim Huybrechts out.
Courtesy of the link Eric The Half A Bee posted the other day:
- "Kim Huybrechts has been eliminated in the first round of every TV event of 2017 except the UK Open and two events for which he did not qualify.
Rob Cross @ 16/1 looks good at e/w
Peter Wright is also the same price.
Is there anywhere I can find who plays who as the rounds go by? You know, all the possibilities?

Fantastic game on at the moment. Rob Cross v Michael Smith.
3 sets each. Bully missed 2 match darts.
Rob Cross wins 4-3. Mental darts from Cross in that last set.
Caught the last two sets of Cross v Smith. Great darts from both.
