The Football Association has confirmed it is investigating an allegation that objects were thrown at Bournemouth players from a Cardiff City fans' area last weekend.
The Bluebirds' 2-0 defeat marked their return to the Premier League.
An FA spokesperson said it was "looking into" the alleged 36th-minute incident. Cardiff City and Bournemouth have declined to comment.
Cardiff City host Newcastle on Saturday in their first home game of 2018-19.

They need to have a lifetime ban from the club. Disgraceful how they've brought shame on us as a club on our first day back in the big time.
With the ticket restrictions that were in place they should be easy to identify.
The coach operators/those on coaches on here probably have a good idea who the idiots are as people will be talking about them on the return journey. Give their names to the club in the hope they will be given a life ban. We don't want so called fans who can't behave themselves by bringing the club into disrepute.
