The Welsh Government is set to raise the age of eligibility for those entitled to travel for nothing: https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/nor...-free-16650356
Article says they want to bump up the qualifying age for a free bus pass from the current 60 to State Pension retirement age. It also states those between those ages who already have a bus pass will be unaffected.
Someone remarks in the comments beneath the article that s/he is often the only paying punter on a bus. On the rare occasions I catch one, whenever the trains aren't running, I'm always the only one handing over dough. I discovered they are not limited to just oldies but a whole raft of others. I also noticed the driver never checks the images on the passes. I suspect quite a few borrow passes from elderly relatives.
lot of disability , students , elderly and you , what an awful world we live in ,no wonder Cardiff Bus is going under ,up the revolution
Everyone over state pension age and eligible disabled people are entitled to free off-peak local bus travel anywhere in England. Local authorities can offer further benefits to their residents and in some areas you can get a pass for free travel if you are over the age of 60 so it is best to check local information.
