My point is that the prison service is woefully underfunded, which is why prisoners are afforded early releases. We can argue about whatever we want with regard the justice service, but unless this government is prepared to fund it, it's all hot air. My prediction is that things will get worse as tax cuts for the wealthy and refusal to clamp down on tax avoidance means less public money and more criminals spending less time in prison.
Everything is underfunded now. Recently, we had choice between government who said they'd spend more but didn't explain enough what changes would be made to mean it wasn't just throwing endless money around and a government who said we'll only spend many more billions on something almost no one outside their party cared about, leaving everything else underfunded and people to fend for themselves with less and less each year. Majority chose the latter.

Yesterday was "time to talk day" and one tweet made the point that this government wants us to be aware of mental health, not to fund any changes to make countries mental health better or offer more support, but for people to be aware of it.
