This deadly virus as thrown the country into completely uncharted areas and life as we nkow it has been disrupted in ways no one would have believed 6 months ago.
But there are lots of things that have happened as a result of the steps taken (side effects) which couldn't have been forseen, some good some bad. Which is which might depend on your outlook.
GOOD:
Increase in neighbourliness
Reduction in polutants in the air all over the world
Reduction in fuel prices (together with the OPEC in-fighting)
Cleaner rivers and seas
Reduction in many kinds of crime
Pigeons not getting fed in the town centre (See below)
Reduction in traffic makes cycling safer
BAD:
Loss of income/jobs affecting families
50 million pints of beer rotting in Pub cellars
Pigeons not getting fed in the town centre (See above)
Loss of revenue for businesses and tourist areas
Can you add to the list. Remember it is subjective.
Bad-
When this is over, mankind as a whole will have learnt nothing and we'll go back to polluting our planet.
Not if Greta Thunberg has her way ! This has been a godsend for her. She's probably torn between disappointment that she's no longer front page news and delight that pollution has been slashed virtually overnight. It does make you wonder though whether this is nature's way of a saying enough's enough, I'm going to intervene as you lot can't be trusted not to ruin the planet.
Bad - over 10 thousand deaths including NHS and care workers
Good - nothing is worth the above in my book
Nothing will change , apart from those who are genuinely community spirited , people will soon go back to being selfish I am allright jack etc
