Hundreds of years from now, the 2010s and early 2020s will be looked back on as a time when large portions of the human race had a brain freeze - how else, do you explain this?

Yet another devastating Gluey put down. There was me thinking that we should listen to the experts, the people who spent years getting a specialist education which gave them the knowledge we should be relying on in a situation like this, but the truth is that in fact I'm one of those who have been conned, the truth is we should be acting upon the snake oil salesman in the White Houses "hunches" - how could I have got it so wrong!
He’s at it again today (or yesterday I guess)
Knows more than the Doctors and has his sly little dig.
What a prick.

Apparently it was Abraham Lincoln who said:
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”
How ironic/appropriate then that Trump chose the Abraham Lincoln memorial building to make his latest press briefing! How embarrassing it must be to be an American citizen these days; some of us thought Boris was going to be a clown but Trump is beyond parody surely?
The pandemic started in January 1918, overlapping with the war for nine months and persisting in its aftermath as people travelled back to their homes. Indeed, the war played a major role in its spread and severity.
Trump who once shit out of going to Vietnam by getting a false diagnosis of 'bone spurs' in his feet, now tells Americans they "have to be warriors" and accept that more deaths are acceptable in order to give the orange baboon the best chance of getting re-elected.

The dullest and worst President and dullest and worst Prime Minister in charge of the USA and the UK both at the same time, you could not make it up.
'Poor folk' in relation to Donald Trump dodging the draft doesn't work! It is because he was not 'poor folk' that it was so easy for him, and others like him.
Ali refused conscription for reasons of principle and religious faith. He was arrested, convicted, stripped of his titles and passport and taken through the legal machine for 4 years until he finally got his conviction overturned.
Donald Trump had no such problems - he carried on as a rich, entitled, draft dodging student - like many others with his class, money and privilege. Where Trump puts himself in a different position from all the rest is his arrogant hypocrisy in attacking John McCain or the family of Humayun Khan. That is when words like 'cowardice' come into their own.

Yes good post Jon, even knowing what Trump was like I was still shocked at the hypocrisy and the brass neck of Trump what he said about McCain, Trump has no self awareness and no shame, somebody said at the time it was a new low for American politics, although I was firmly on the side of the home team out in Vietnam I was shocked at what Trump said about McCain, the cheek of it, Trump is the lowest of the low .
The usual suspects will rush to his defence, of course, but his man is totally unsuitable for his job. If he was your neighbour saying stuff like this, you'd avoid him.
TRUMP: “Katie, she tested very good for a long period of time, and then all of the sudden she tested positive ... this is why the whole concept of tests aren't necessarily great ... today, I guess, for some reason, she tested positive." pic.twitter.com/xNFEJn3W9s
