Surely if a footballer had injured 2 people in a car crash, even if not under the influence of drugs/alcohol, the press would have picked up on it ?
Really sad to see Mendez leave under this cloud. I'll reserve my judgement until the whole story comes out. Puts added pressure on the new lad from Liverpool now and a chance for Murphy to claim a first team start (I've been saying that for years mind)
The fact that Harris reiterated that the door is always open makes me think it’s not actually that bad
Why get rid of him for nothing then? Football clubs dont get rid of assets, especially in these times of financial hardship.
Why didnt NML say something in his statement if it wasn't that bad?
Why haven't the sunday press run a story if 1, they even know what the reason is or 2, unless its sub judice?
He refused to go to training. Club tried to be accommodative until it reached the point where he was taking the piss. That's how he breached his contract, by not showing up to work. Club got rid but obviously they don't want to pay the compensation so they're being careful about what they say, letting the legal proceedings unfold.
two separate, reliable, sources have told me exactly the same thing, car accident with extras. There's no way they'd act like this if he just didn't want to come to training, especially as he has an intrinsic value.
He's a professional, why would he suddenly refuse to train?
most professionals look for a club to train with even if they aren't employed.
It is part of being on the market, showing prospective clubs that they are still fit.
If he wanted out then not training is the perfect way to ensure no one wants you.
So... any update
Why would a professional footballer making at least £10,000 a week deal drugs? Unless it's PEDs to his team mates or something like that.
