I caught sight of Neil Ruddock on TV and thought about what a full team professional fatties might look like. A Man T!tyy City if you will. Players that spring to mind would be....
Big Nev in goals
A front two of Jon Parkin and Mick Quin. Maybe Gazza and Sammy Lee in the middle. Struggling for chunky wingers though.
Lee tomlin
Kenny Burns
Ronnie bird was chunky rather than a porker
Chris Waddle
Matt le tis
Piled the weight on over the years
John Barnes
Tell you what, there are some quality players in this X(L)I
Ronaldo in later years was a bit chunky, not a bad player.
Jan Molby
Leon Jeanne could make the (reinforced) bench. He was huge when he was playing at Merthyr.
Got to be Fatty Foulke in goal, no one comes close to him. Akinfenfa is worth a shout up front.
Anyone remember Tommy Halliday for us in the 60s? He was carrying some timber!
Was the Barnet keeper Gary Phillips. I dont think Chris Pike had ever missed a penalty and he saved his penalty but the ref ordered a retake and he saved that as well. If i remember right Pike struck both reasonably well and in different corners.
Anyone he was chubby.
Alan Foggon
Andy Reid
Roger Hoy was quite chunky I seem to remember
Jan Molby
Brolin has to get a game.
Warren Aspinall was as fat as any footballer I've ever seen when he came here with, I think, Wigan.
I remember as a kid Tommy Lawrence being some unit playing for Liverpool, I remember thinking how can this fatty be a goalkeeper?
Big Nev, albeit now he is huge, when he was at his peak he was what I'd call imposing.
Akinfenwa up top no question.
Amazing he's still doing it at such a level given his size.
He must have bionic knees.
Plenty of people around with a Lockdown Layer these days!
Rooney looked a bit chunky when played us, still probably 4 stone lighter than me though
Why isn't Francis Lee on this thread yet.
A right porker.
Got to be Southall in goal
Maradona
Neil Shipperley
Steve Bruce
Posters calling for Southall in goal have obviously never seen William Foulke. 24 stone towards the end of his career.
