What about the russians , nothing to do with the nazis , who raped and murdered millions of Polish and other Eastern European people as they drove the nazis out of Germany?
I think they were just a little racist those Russians
And the white Australian settlers that basically tried to wipe out the aborigines?
And the white settlers in America who massacred the red indians ?
So if no one apart from a few nasty Russians, white Australians and nasty white blokes were given a telling off and these people had not been nasty racism wouldnt be a problem ?
There isn’t a racist issue down the City, or most sports grounds.
I’ve been to hundreds, if not over a thousand sporting events, over the years.
I’ve heard one racial comment.
That was directed towards Nathan Blake when he played for Wales in the 90s, and I confronted the bloke.
Yes, there’ll be the odd racist at games, and pockets of racists in society, but in the whole the vast, vast majority of us abhor racism.
I don’t personally believe anyone would get away with making a comment at a game these days, without be challenged.
Particularly as Cardiff is a very inclusive, multicultural city.
But, this taking the knee.
Fine initially, but how long does it go on for?
I watch sport for escapism, not to be lectured that we’re a country of racists. We’re not.
Like the NFL in America bowing to the current narrative of allowing players to wear the names of convicted felons, on their helmets.
Yet, the league wouldn’t allow the Dallas Cowboys a few years ago to put the names of the five Police officers killed at the hands of a black man, that Summer.
Double standards.
One other thing I’d say about racism, is that it extends both ways.
There are many black people who can’t stand whites. Apparently, we’re all privileged and to be held to account for the disgraceful way black people were treated many years ago.
We are just as repulsed, as they are for some of that treatment.
Society has improved for the better.
But, taking a knee will never stop a racist, being a racist.
That needs to come from the way parents raise their kids.
Jason L riley, he's another ideological right wing commentator.Makes no difference what his skin colour is. You really need to reference people who have a bit of balance and are not selective -like you-with their research. Riley references the most basic issues within society then puts his spin on it. Open your eyes you massive tool.
They are a piss take out of middle age blokes sitting in front of the computer
I used to work for a charity helping people with housing problems in Riverside and referred many young women to the police or womens aid after they disclosed information to me . And referred many more young women to cardiff single women's housing project which helped young women fleeing violenc sand abuse
I know that I am not a sexist misogynist , believe in equality for all and have actually supported vulnerable women and helped them escape violence and abuse and get the right support from the right agency .
I know that
But I also know that you are a racist
Maybe you should stick to posts telling everyone what an amazing footballer you were, and how Messi asked you to swap shirts after a game, and begged you to join him at Barcelona.
There are some people on this site who lap up that kind of stuff from a fantasist like yourself, who’s detached from reality!
there have been lots of racist incidents at cardiff city matches home and away over the years to deny it happens is pathetic
Here is just a few
Bananas being thrown at Alex Williams man City Black keeper
I would rather be black than a swansea jack used to be sung at Swansea fans
Town full of pakis shouted at Bradford City and Oldham fans
All buksh the Asian referree being abused by cardiff fans from the Bob Bank
Coventry City away in the fa Cup, bus of supporters racially abusing Asian people near the ground
A poster on here who is of mixed raced being abused by cardiff fans at Charlton
Bloke arrested on Bob bank for doing a nazi salute
****ing ****** being shouted at a Stoke City player wasting time
Rather wear a turban than a rose often sang just before we left ninian park
Cardiff is a multi racial city and 16 percent of the city are from a non white background
How many people do you see from a multicultural background at cardiff matches ?
To deny that cardiff city doesn't have a racist element among its support and always has its blind
You're being ridiculous, Messi is way younger than me, we never had the chance to meet. If we had, then I may have swapped shirts with him, depending on how I felt, it's probably the closest he would've got to my shirt all game.
As for you, you perrenial disappointment, deal with the issues and stop scuttling off to quote some hard right literature in order to reinforce your ****ed up views. Yours, with kisses, the greatest footballer who ever lived!
Nothing apart from the millions of passive onlookers who over a few steins would agree with each other that the anti fascist demonstrations in Berlin were over the top, that the Nazis were basically good patriots who liked dressing up, that there is good and bad on both sides and that they Jews’ (and the socialists, gypsies, disabled and other victims and scapegoats) brought some or all of their troubles on themselves!
Racism cannot be ended just by individuals not giving out explicit racist abuse as a personal choice - which is how the original comment came over.
I think the BLM protests have reached a tipping point because of the length and weight of numbers involved, and the way prominent figures in sports have aligned themselves with it in visible and coordinated demonstrations before matches/events. But there is an equally determined push back - clear from many governing bodies and across social media. So now is not the time to stop, it is the time to step it up and expose the racists and their sometimes unwitting allies the complacent!
To break it down into the simplest of terms. Taking a knee is a show of solidarity from the football world that racism won't be accepted.
You have an issue with that then you need a long hard look in the mirror why and don't quote some bullshit article from people with agendas. Have a good think and come back to me with your reasons why.
Of course you're allowed to do it, although in my opinion, it's just an opinion! I'd rather a more balanced view looking at both sides of an argument, or for people not to just agree with literature that they probably agreed with before they read it.That's how I look at things. Did I ever tell you how good I was at football.....
Please can someone, in simple terms, explain to me why grown up people who enjoy football, among other sports, find something to object about a few other people whom they don't know personally, squatting on their knees for a few seconds BEFORE a match?
If the match got interrupted a few times for this performance DURING play then I could quite understand someone getting pissed off with it (I would). But BEFORE a match I really can't think of any reason why anyone would object other than they're being racist. I mean if there were some other quick gesture players performed to reject paedophilia for example just about all of us would applaud them; what would it say about the tiny minority who would object?
