    Free agents

There are still quite a few around by the looks of things.

Aleix Garcia - a former man city youth midfielder, who seems to have done OK in Belgium and La Liga, still only 23

Kevin Stewart - a defensive midfielder most recently at Hull

Kevin Stoger a central/attacking midfielder who gets plenty of assists in the top 2 bundesliga levels - came back from a cruciate ligament injury last season.

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kevi.../0?saison=2019

Nathaniel Clyne - Rightback we tried to sign previously - recently returned from a cruciate ligament rupture

Arnaud Lusamba - Central midfielder most recently at Nice

Any of those worth a look at do you think?

Well we have tons and Tonnes, and long tons and short tons, and in my local pints and half pints. I buy my meat in lb values and my car tells me how many miles to the gallon its doing.
In a timber yard one can buy wood as 2x6 by 4.8 or 4x2x 6m or whatever you want. (See what I did there TBG)
I buy my milk in Tesco in 4 pint containers.

But if you say we use the metric system, who am I to argue with you.

Interesting as all meat in supermarkets are now metric. Imperial measurements haven't been taught in schools for over 30 years and so it'll only be tradition keeping them going.

Clyne would be a decent pick up, though I suspect a premier league team will come in for him eventually.

When i first started working on site, all of the old ***** would use imperial, hearing " 16 inches, three eights, a sixteenth and a nats cock' was not uncommon.

    Imperial and Farenheit.

My old man is in his 70s and he uses Celcius when he talks to me on the phone. So weird. It was 81 here today. 27 sounds lame.

Roy Hodgson said as much in an interview over the weekend, can't see him getting a slot in their side though, , like Arter ,they have had their moment in the big-time.

Horse racing is measured in furlongs.
The length of a cricket pitch is one chain.
Tyre pressure is measured in pounds per square inch

Some people can't fathom the metric system (see what I did there)

    Plus these...

In football, the centre circle is 10 yards radius, as ids the "D" ( from the penalty spot - which is 12 yards from the goal line)
Opposing players have to be 10 yards from a free kick.
The goal is 8 yards by 8 feet

Oh, and shoe sizes are measured in barleycorns.

use the Kelvin scale instead. 300 Kelvin sounds even better!

Aleix Garcia on this list is apparenly linked with Galatasaray

    Re: Free agents

Apparenlty Norwich and some premier league clubs were in discussions with Kevin Stoger

Aleix Garcia still being linked wth Galatasaray

Nathaniel Clyne linked with Palace and West Ham if they can takea punt on him staying injury free.

    Re: Free agents

Aleix Garcia now looks like joining Dinamo Bucharest - which seems an odd place to end up for a still young player who seems to have done ok in La Liga last season?
Surely the wages in the Championship would be higher than in Romania?

Nathaniel Clyne and Kevin Stoger linked with a load of clubs still.

I know I said a while back that I'd rather not read how we are after a guy but that we have signed "Joe Bloggs" after the deal's done, but we're cutting it fine!

Domestic window doesn't shut until October 16th, so plenty of time left.

    Re: Free agents

Our old favourite Chris Solly is a free agent, the right-back who impressed in the promotion match against Charlton back in 2013. Released by Charlton in the summer and he's 30 in January.
