I loved Thorney too.
Earnshaw took most of the plaudits but Thorne was just as important to us at the time.
He was the Toshack to Earnie's Keegan.
Earnie had the chance to play at the top level and did well, shame we didn't get to see Thorney play at that level.
Then again I suppose you find the level you are comfortable with.
Re the OP, I would go for Chopra over Jay as the latter, although unplayable on his day, wasn't consistent and would go missing on occasions.
Another lower level striker I also loved, Stantona.
