Anyone watch it this evening? One contestant’s answers to five questions that I can remember;
Who was President of the USA on January 1st, 2000?........... George Washington

Which Welsh football team used to play at Ninian Park?......... Well it’s not Cardiff City because they play at the Millennium Stadium so it’s Newport County.
Thing is he actually won tonight, the counters just fell for him, £2,500. He should have gone for the trade though because the ten grand counter dropped.
Got past embarrassing watching him and became funny, don’t they get asked a few warm up questions to see if they’re actually up to being put on the show Even Ben Shepherd took the piss a little bit

I love Tipping Point but the lack of basic general knowledge can be astounding at times. Fair enough, if contestants start panicking during the speed round and lose all sense of reasoning but some of the answers given when they have time to think are cringe-worthy.
My pet hate is the old chestnut you hear from some younger contestants in particular "That was a bit before my time Ben". I would love him to come back with, "Well you've heard of Hitler, Julius Caesar and Mozart haven't you ? And I think they were all around before your time"
Having said all that, it's still a programme I never miss.
