Wouldn't he be needed now with Morrison out?
Assuming Leicester have their own issues.
Hopefully this means that Morrison will be back for the Norwich game.
So we are now left with a centre back partnership of Nelson + Bamba/Cunningham
Well done Harris ! !
Serves us right for not playing him before we actually needed him.
Bad management.
The people criticising Harris will be the same people criticising Benkovic's awful performance.
A true club legend. Irreplaceable.
Does it mean he could be the first ever person to play for the City that no City fan witnessed?
What about Ciaron Brown on loan at Livingstone?
Weird one. I reckon he was abseloutely gash in training. Surely would have got a chance by now if he showed any promise what with the mental schedule and Nelson being below par. Does this free up a prem loan? Or is it an allocation over the season?
This transfer window is going to be a non-event. Clubs appear too afraid to part with their fringe players when a Covid outbreak can lay low a chunk of their squad. It’s instead gone to the other extreme, with clubs recalling players while they can, just to be on the safe sideTwo tweets from Walesonline journalist: https://twitter.com/roathboy The first perhaps explaining why so many players (including Benkovic) are being recalled and the second showing that for some City fans they don't really want to change to a more progressive style of play even if they talk about it needing to happen.Never really understood the Benkovic signing. Loan out Flint, who was ‘too good’ to be sat on the bench, then replace him with a player that was also ‘too good’ to be sat on the bench. Morrison and Nelson were never likely to be broken up and so it proved. Now here we are again
Benkovic has been slaughtered on here on the back of a 70 min performance.
The first Wycombe goal, the player had the run & jump on him which can happen to the best centre backs. This is partly due to lack of match practice and concentration.
The 2nd goal, their midfielder ghosted in between Benkovic & Nelson. Benkovic has taken all the flak but Nelson got away with yet another error. Also where was our midfielder back tracking his marker?
Decent loans at Celtic & Bristol City should tell us that Benkovic has something. If his attitude was at fault then he should have been booted out weeks ago. I look back at soft goals conceded against Bournemouth & Bristol City and the lack of closing down for goals at Norwich & QPR and it definitely points to our undroppable pairing making the same mistakes time & time again. Harris recognised this but still did nothing about it.
We can't boot someone outside of a transfer window, and we needed him in case we had an injury. His attitude has been questioned multiple times by Rodgers. We all questioned why Nelson wasn't dropped and we all saw why Benkovic wasn't starting.
For the second goal, the striker didn't ghost between. Benkovic was picking him up, and then dropped off him. Benkovic got caught under the ball for the first goal, it isn't good enough. What about the other mistakes he made? He was bloody awful.
It was a bad signing, he wasn't good enough and it happens.
No he was beaten to that honour by Osei-Tutu, Ojo and Wilson.
There seems to be an issue with Benkovic judging by Rodgers' and Harris' comments. No great loss I feel for us.
Does anyone think Harris has something up his sleeve? The only centre backs we have left is Nelson and Bamba, although he did say we would play a back three v Forest so maybe Nelson, Bamba and Cunningham?
Writing was on the wall re last season. Was in the squad for the wurzels 15 times, only started 6. Was kept out the side by Baker and Ashley Williams. That's three managers that don't rate him, although it might be a positive re Lee Johnson
