Just for those on this board who were so concenred about whether I eould get my jab on Wednesday. I did. But it was amusing.
When I went in the guy on the computer couldn't find me. After me giving him my passport so he could spell my name correctly he did find me but the guy who I'd spoken to on the phone had recorded my date of birth incorrectly. If you read the post regarding my booking the appointment you'll realise how incredible that is.
He had also managed to put my address as somewhere I had moved out of 2 years ago, despite my having given him my address. The man corrected both and I got the injection no bother, but they could not give me a date for my second injection. They said it should arrive by post or text. If it comes by post it will be interesting to see where that turns up.
What age group are they on now in Wales? Over 70’s all done now I believe, how many people are in there 60’s in Wales? And 50’s? I’m sure I saw this posted on this thread......

Of course it's by no means a race and about doing it as safely and quickly as possible. Different nations are starting to diverge on strategy too with Scotland now looking to include adults with learning disabilities where, reportedly, not yet mentioned in Wales or England.21/02/2021:
The UK and adults over 18 fully vaccinated against #COVID19 as it stands:
Northern Ireland 2.12%
Wales 1.5%
England 1.16%
Scotland 0.8%
1st doses:
Wales 34.09%
England 33.56%
Scotland 32.29%
Northern Ireland 30.7%

New cases consistently in the 250 to 350 range in Wales these days - 317 today with all the Betsi Cadwaldr figures in North Wales and Cardiff and the Vale being the only regions above 50. the number of people getting first vaccines seems to have slowed in the last week or so, but the number of those having a second jab will, surely, reach 50,000 tomorrow. The deaths figure is always low on a Tuesday, but 4 is as low as I can remember it being in months.

Best daily figures for months I'd say.

An update.BREAKING: England, Scotland and Wales have now prioritised ALL people with learning disabilities for a #COVID19 vaccine.
This U-turn is HUGE news for so many families across the UK. Protection will finally come for the most vulnerable in our society.
Please note, this is only those on the priority list in England, so a lot of people could not be on that and the emphasis is still 'severe/profound' learning disabilities. (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/h...-b1806604.html)
Arguably, those with mild/moderate who aren't on a list are missing out... It all depends on the register.

We are encouraging everyone who has a learning disability to ensure they are on the register

The slow down in vaccinations is part of the reduction in supply due to the companies doing work to increase factory production. It was known about and factored in, and both Johnson and Drakeford have commented on it and said it is not a problem. Back to normal very quickly. So no cause for concern there I believe.
Total first vaccination figures now over 900,000. Just over 300 new cases and a low deaths figure.

Had my first one this morning, an initial step in the return to some sort of normality I hope
Just the one death reported in Wales today (that figure is always low on a Tuesday mind) and 170 new cases with all of the regions below 50. On the vaccine front, you'd like to think that the number of first doses will hit the million mark by the weekend and there are now nearly 112,000 who have had two jabs;-

great progress. for over a month now every time there is good news on the figures it's been met by a handful of people demanding that the pubs/schools etc are opened up more quickly, and comparing Mark Drakeford to a tyrant.
we are currently back around the same level as we were in the middle of September.
we know that with minimal restrictions then it only took a few weeks to turn into thousands of cases and many deaths every day.
Do you think that if Drakeford opens up the shops before England that the shopping areas closest to England will be inundated with visitors from across the border or will Drakeford order the borders closed
Duckfords new plan is to give people the Jab, as they come to a halt on the M4.
