Sky News just posted the following bullet points
Furlough extended until end of September
Universal Credit uplift of £20 per week to continue for further 6 months
Minimum wage to increase to £8.91 from April
Stamp Duty holiday extended until June 30th
Business rates holiday until end of June
Personal Tax thresholds frozen until 2026
Alcohol and fuel duties frozen
Corporation tax on profits to rise to 25% from 2023
looks like a kick in the teeth for key workers after a year they've had won't be forgotten by the British Public me thinks
Dont forget that the Senedd has tax raising powers and can do it's own thing with regards to Income Tax.
Wouldn't surprise me if they brought in a lower rate and an extra higher rate sometime during the next parliament.
Universal Credit has seen an uplift (and extension) but anyone still on old system benefits have missed out throughout this year. A way of pushing people to make the change before they need to despite Universal Credit being financially a worse benefit for disabled people/people with ill health.
A government looking to go green government has frozen fuel tax much to delight of Sun who campaigned for both greater focus on climate and protection for motorists.
Corporation Tax increases and green infrastructure bank from Labour 2019 manifesto - not too surprising.
Analysis of the new freeports here: https://ukandeu.ac.uk/wp-content/upl.../Freeports.pdf
From what I glean from above, this Guppy bloke was after this other bloke's address, and was trying to get it from Johnson, but Johnson didn't give it to him. Sounds like BJ wouldn't minded him having a black eye or two, but 'arranging to have someone beaten up ' ? That's not how I read it.
Lets be honest here ( and i know some will of course refuse to see it ) , this budget has been decent for the low income / working class, Furlough / SE help scheme ( which will save jobs ) and the continuation of the £20 uplift to Universal credit cannot be knocked
of course we will see the people saying " front line workers should have got a pay rise "
This government has tried its best with Furlough / SE help for over 1 year, not sure many other countries have gone that far to help
