Good news rates falling. RCT now under 50 per 100 000 a condition to be in Tier 1. But we are all still in tier 4.
But with cases continuing to fall hospitality (even outdoors only) is not even being considered in the next 2 reviews in Wales.
I dont think they should open for the Easter weekend but surely with low rates and vaccination going well after the Easter Break hospitality at least outdoors should have some hope for opening.

Yes but if all the people that get affected are now vaccinated, unlike last sept/Oct, we should be ok anyway. Transmission rates have plummeted. I imagine they will continue too as the over 50’s are vaccinated now

The most important thing we can do to keep schools safe is to reduce transmission in the community particularly in areas of social deprivation. Reopening of schools should be phased, at a time when community transmission of the virus is controlled, and with primary school aged children prioritised for returning to the classroom to minimise both transmission within schools and the disruption caused by school closures. Although the roll-out of effective vaccines has begun, controlling transmission is even more important to keeping children in the classroom as viral variants with increased transmissibility gain hold in many countries around the world.

Good old Mark Drakeford will make the easing of lockdown last a few months at least. First thing is for 'stay at home' to give way to 'stay local'. This will mean, come Easter, that the 400,000 of us that live in Cardiff and surrounds will have nowhere to go for a day out other than Cardiff Bay. Thank you Mark

I realise that. England has a plan published for all to see. Wales 'plan' is done in 3 week chunks which keeps us in the dark. When we had the two week firebreak last year, the scientific advisors said three weeks would be much more beneficial. Drakeford replied that we couldn't afford three weeks because of the impact on Welsh business.
The following month, on Dec 20th he put us in lockdown again and its still ongoing. Where is his interest in Welsh business now? He needs to publish a plan to give business and families some hope and quality of life.
As an example Ive booked a haircut but my hairdresser won't know until Friday 12th whether he will be allowed to open on Monday 15th, just ridiculous for businesses to try to work on those sorts of timelines.
Also 30% of the population of Wales have had a Covid jab. That's the main reason that things are improving throughout the UK. When the current lockdown started no one had received a vaccination. He has to be bold enough to realise that keeping levels down should be relatively straightforward as the jab roll out continues, and get focussed on trying to get the Welsh economy back on it's feet
In Cardiff there is no difference really between stay home and stay local. You would think he’d know that.....there’s no way that people won’t be going wherever come Easter.
I think the stay local will be 3 weeks only if it comes in.
They are looking at Tourism opening from Easter.
Stay local for 3 weeks from the 15th March will take us past Easter
It’s going to be Monday 12th April isn’t it....keeps all the business in west wales struggling a bit longer if they miss Easter for a 2nd year in a row. That’s Westminster’s problem not Drakefords, he just concentrates on health not business.

Being outside, in the outdoors in #FreshAir is a lot safer,
But spending time with others outside your household without social distancing in enclosed spaces is a higher risk- such as travelling in a car together, Of course the longer you spend in that environment the risk increases
Remember that coronavirus is transmitted in the air via droplets and aerosols. It is #airborne. So wear the best mask you can get if you go into environments where you’re in close contact with people from outside your bubble. FFP2 standard masks offer very good protection
The way the virus spreads hasn’t changed, but rather our understanding of it has greatly improved. Less emphasis on hand hygiene (although that is always good) and more on the environment you choose to spend time in and with whom.
