Harris and Colwill on.
Great ball from Murphy!
An interesting set of subs
The second commentator again!!
No comparisons to Rugby or American Football today, but keeps to referring to young Colwill and Reuben Cowell...
4 added minutes.
Deserved nothing, rubbish performance. Until we rebuild that woeful midfield it'll just keep going on and on
Actually passed the ball a bit at the end
Shit.
Is Moore injured? He seemed to be playing at walking pace for most of the game.
Very disappointing performance, its not as if Forest were even remotely dangerous.
Gave the ball away far too often .
Running out of games .
Forest were awful and we should have been able to get 3 points from that game today. After half time I thought we were very poor seeing as we were a goal down.
great result again.well done lads
5th Barnsley 64 pts P38
6th Bournemouth 62pts P38
-------------------------------
7th Reading 62 pts P38
8th Cardiff 58pts P39
9th M'Boro 56pts P39
Chances are fading. That was a right kick in the nuts today
Why did we bring Ojo on? It's like we went down 10 men.
We haven't really played well since Joe Bennett got injured.
Play off hopes not happening.
Lets put Sang in the middle of the park for the run in and Ng back on the right. We desperately need someone who can find a blue shirt and have some composure on the ball in the middle.
We missed Moz in the Forest box. Kieffer Moore totally off form. Vaulks’ passing poor.
Subs awful again, Running theme with Mccarthy that doesn't bode well for next season
Forest showed us how to defend the goal we conceded by having men to cover the cut-back late in the 2nd half which we had lacked on 29 minutes. It's hard work being a two in this formation but if you're not keeping the ball moving at a good pace and not covering cut-backs in front of the back three I'm not sure what you are doing. Or was it the case that we had 3 CB's covering one striker and none willing to mark the space surrounding him?
Going forward we clearly missed Morrison both in that he's trusted to step out from defence and his added threat in opposition box. Brown and Nelson are both defenders only and I'm really not sure we need both in the starting XI - Nelson currently the better defender but Brown is younger and left-footed which is a valuable asset. Ralls, Sang and Wilson all played well but asked to do too much because something was missing around them.
Bacuna poor but then so were Ojo (didn't really do anything) and Murphy (some nice deliveries but not enough) from the bench. I'd rather have Williams and Colwill off the bench from what we saw today.
MM:
Pros: did recognise need to tweak formation to add another man in midfield and again gave youth a chance.
Cons: was really late to use the bench. We looked so much better in those last 7 minutes than we had for the 25-30 minutes before that. Barnsley are in the play-offs because of the way they use the bench to win games and we're falling off the pace since MM came in because of how we make use of it.
....yet again.
Another abject performance, where half the players looked like they were already on the beach.
Without Morrison the writing was on the wall, he’s the leader and heart and soul of this team. Flint without Morrison alongside today, was a liability. Continually gave possession or cheap free kicks away, and the less said about the free header he missed to equalise, the better.
I don’t understand in a must win game, why MM didn’t pick a more attacking side. Forest hadn’t won in six games, just three points out of 18, scoring just three goals. Yes, they got a draw at Brentford, which was down to Brentford’s terrible finishing on the day. They should have had five.
For us, results have been masking the fact the football is continually terrible under MM, with no signs of improvement.
We’ve now won one of the last five games, just five points out of 15, outplayed in almost all those games.
We’ve scored just two goals in those five games. One an own goal, the other from a throw in. Why can’t we create chances, or score from open play?
And how McCarthy can bring on five subs and not use Hoilett, who has more ability than all of them, is mystifying. Plus, he took off the only player who was passing the ball all game, and could potentially get us a goal, in Wilson.
One of his biggest mistakes is offloading Glatzel, without lining up a replacement striker. There is no goal scoring option to Moore, and in recent games he’s been totally ineffective and stinking the place out. He can’t even hold the ball up when it’s played to him, which invites pressure back on us.
MM was a decent appointment until the end of the season, but it’s depressing to think he’s got a two year contract. We can expect more of this rubbish, and you can see why Ipswich and Ireland supporters wanted shot of him.
He’s a managerial dinosaur, who’s best days are long behind him. We might as well have appointed George Graham!
Bit harsh on Murphy who set up a great chance for Flint. After the first set of subs we seemed to lose impetus, probably with the new formation and subs getting into the game. I think many have had us down as a top 10 team only and today's result is the kind of thing that happens to those. Would like to see our midfield rejigged but not sure it'll happen when we're still mathematically in touch.
