    This was so true. Full meal sunday, leftovers monday, sausage and mash tuesday, can't remember Wed and Thu, egg/fish and chips friday, lamb stew saturday because we all came in different times.

      I bought some fresh cod today. It costs about £15 a Kilo. It is more expensive than trout or salmon, and don't even think about the price of hake.
      But way back fish was much cheaper than meat and the catholic church made it a rule that people had to eat fish on a friday to give wives and mothers an d excuse not to have to give their family meat when they couldn't afford it. It may sound stupid today but it was true.
