I doubt this will come as any surprise to Ben Turner.

    But yes, not good reading.
Looks like we had our own little KKK back in 2013/14 with Turner, Malky and Cala all being employed throughout the season

Blimey. We really had some unpleasant players in the dressing room then. Wonder if they would have taken the knee?

Mutch is a big fan of Trump.

Cala was an absolute tosser here so looks like nothing has changed.

Cala is denying that he said anything untoward.

Valencia players are adamant that he did.

Strangely aggressive response from Cala, threatening legal action

Could be a case of misinterpretation between languages, who knows.

If Cala is guilty though, double his punishment

Did as well as any that season. Mostly remember going to the Southampton away match where he scored a beauty to win it for us.

Audible words: "Negro negro ven ven." (Come on, black)
Then: "Negro de mierda vas a llorar!" (Go and cry, black shit)

    What a lovely chap.

There is nowhere near the same sensitivity to racial slurs or the use of language that refers to race in Spain as there is in most English speaking countries (Maybe Australia/SA aside) . It's pretty much normal to hear someone casually refer to a person as "a Blackman" or "a Chinese fella" or "a Moor". Same goes for homophobic language.

Conversely, language that makes reference to gender seems to frowned upon to greater extent than in the UK.

Same goes for painting your face black for fancy dress and what not ..... or colonialist era branding similar to the "golly-wog" character.

Different cultures differing attitudes , perhaps we are ahead of a few other countries in our approach to the sensitivity of images and language these days .
