I saw it live the other night. There are flukes and there are moments that defy belief like that.Originally posted by delmbox View PostThis deserves a look https://twitter.com/Sporf/status/138...979136512?s=20

Great shot - but I doubt he was attempting the pot.Originally posted by delmbox View PostThis deserves a look https://twitter.com/Sporf/status/138...979136512?s=20

Re: Any snooker players out there?
It was an attempt to hit the yellow. Nothing more, nothing less. He needed to come twice or three times across the table to reach it otherwise and there was no guarantee of leaving it safe, so his idea was to hit the far knuckle of the pocket, bounce off the black cushion knuckle and hope the ball went somewhere in the region of the yellow. As the commentator rightly said, he was in an awful position.Originally posted by delmbox View PostWhat do you think he was trying to do? I can't see what else he could have been attempting
Total fluke and he definitely did not consider potting the yellow. If he said he did he's a liar. Given the margins concerned it was impressive enough to even hit the yellow.

Sorry didn't listen properly!!
That's not the bit of black and white film I thought it was
What I meant to copy was the famous bit of Ted Lowe commentary where he says
"Steve is going for the pink ball - and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green."
Unfortunately I can't find it on Youtube
