That is really positive and unexpected news.
From the brief pictures and then the reaction of the medics and players around him after he collapsed it looked like he had stopped breathing and his eyes were open! Most people watching will have feared the worst.
The speed of reaction and the numbers and skill of medical staff have made the difference. I don't remember when football got its act together with medical cover (at least for major games) but a few decades ago this would have been a very different outcome.
Anxious times ahead for Erikson and his family - but still great news.

Double post
Jeez they are going to resume the match in about 20 minutes
Should think his fitness along with medics excellent response may have saved him, shows how fragile life is .
Was certain he was gone. Looks very promising that scheduled game, shows how precious life hangs in the balance
Is it going to be shown BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, iPlayer or not at all?
If I was a betting man when those pictures of him eyes open on the ground you'd have thought he was a goner. Thankfully he's pulled through although suspect his playing days are done if its like Francis Muamba.
Also if I was a betting man I'd have have a few quid on Finland as if I was his team mate I'd be in no fit state to play the second half.
Cornelius on for Denmark.
I hope Denmark equalise
What a choice to have to make:
Danish players were given two choices - to finish the game that night, or at noon the next day. After hearing Eriksen was OK, they decided to get it finished that evening.
Apparently several weren’t in the right frame of mind to continue.

Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest when he collapsed in Denmark's Euro 2020 match against Finland, said Danish team doctor Morten Boesen.
Christian Eriksen had a cardiac arrest and “was gone” before being swiftly resuscitated on the pitch, Denmark’s the team doctor, Morten Boesen, revealed on Sunday.
“He was gone,” Boesen said. “We started the resuscitation and we managed to do it. How close were we to losing him? I don’t know, but we got him back after one defib [defibrillation], so that’s quite fast.”
Denmark’s coach, Kasper Hjulmand, revealed the squad had spoken to Eriksen on Sunday and that it was great “to see him smile”, and Boesen praised the medical team at Parken, where Denmark played Finland.
“How quickly they reacted was decisive I would say,” he said. “The time from when it happens until he receives help is the most important factor. And that was a short period of time. That was decisive.
