I hope so. We need to be more dynamic.
We don't know if he is up to championship speed yet.
Both. Wintle, Vaulks and Ralls with Ng and Bagan as wing backs.
I would think he will play form the off , to establish his credentials.
I'm sure he could show us his capabilities in the early games against Barnsley, Blackpool and the first round of the Carabao Cup .
I wonder if now is time to try and get a fee for Ralls. Always been a fan of his and I know he has his critics but the last couple of seasons I don't think he's moved on as hoped for me.
Try to move on Bacuna as well, I really don't see him as an attacking mid like MM seems to.
ralls is the best of the 4, but also the most likely to be able to get a fee for, if MM doesn't think he can fit into this system.
I hope he stays though.
I also think he could still be a good option at LWB. he has a good engine, a bit of quality on the ball and can tackle.
Having Vaulks and Ralls starting together still equates to too many missed passes.
I think Wintle is a step in the right direction, however, I still think we need another attacking midfielder to come in, someone who can offer a bit more going forward than Vaulks and Ralls do.
That might not be easy given the wages they are all probably on.
Plus we have other areas of the pitch that need addressing.
We've lost Hoilet, wilson and Ojo from last season in terms of wingers.
Leaving us with Murphy and Whyte and possibly Colwill. So we need at least one more, possibly 2 if Whyte isn't fancied.
We only have 1 RWB and 1 LWB - unless Sang or Bacuna will continue to play at RWB and Ralls at LWB - ideally we would bring in a specialist LWB.
Vaulks and Ralls/Wintle sitting deeper with Bacuna as the CAM
Phillips
Pack Morrison Nelson
Ng Wintle Ralls Bagan
Colwill Moore Murphy
I'm guessing the plan with attacking midfield is Colwill and someone else? The release of Jonny suggests that to me
I think left back should be our priority at this point. Up front seems fairly stacked as long as we keep Moore
I guess we could be thinking about going with a #10 and 2 central strikers - Moore and Collins
that might actually suit the mix of our squad a bit better, as we have all those strikers to get on the pitch.
Colwill behond those two would certainly be a tall front 3
we would be very reliant on the wing backs to provide width, which is fine if we can get them forward enough
I’m suspicious that we could see all our good players being sold off as the window gets going, leaving us with the somewhat average ones we’ve been busily snapping up at boot sales.
It’d be the end of our premiership ambitions but maybe it’s inevitable in the current climate.
Nothing lasts forever, but let’s hope I’m completely wrong.
For sure we are playing a different game now - trying to get promoted without parachute payments. There will need to be changes ad we will need to get smarter, but we should till be able to compete at this level and if a couple of signings or young prospects turn good we still have a chance.
