Thread: Cardiff City Museum

    Cardiff City Museum

I noticed mention in the recent "Update As Club Meets Supporters Groups" talk of a Museum at the Cardiff City Stadium. I hadn't come across anything about this previously, though I've often wondered why we haven't got one.

    Does anyone know anything more?

Yes, it's on the cards. I don't know the details but the club have been working on it for a while. I think they are hoping to make an announcement soon.

I'll look out for that, thanks.

Will they have just the one Hull stub?

You may recall that, in 2019, the club acquired about £40k worth of memorabilia at auction belonging to the former Club Historian Richard Shepherd. Presumably this collection will form the basis of the Museum

Mmm, I could tell you a story about that stuff. PM me for details. I think they did get the ledgers and some bound volumes of programmes. Strangely three other sets of Pre War programme bound volumes and other memorabilia cam on the market recently, not sure of the source.

If they go for the full emersive experience then I will give the Bob Bank bogs and the nitro-glycerine crusty mince pie and a bovril a miss in the cafe half way through the exhibits

I don’t think Robin Friday deserves a place in a Cardiff City Museum let alone Gavin Friday

A thing of beauty. Remember those yellow scented cubes that were put in the piss trough in order to mask the smell of urine? They were pungent, and i'm sure that the ammonia mixed with whatever chemical was in those little cubed bastards probably saw a fair few City fans off.

Not one of those blokes having a cheeky gander at the opposition, so to speak. Head down, never confused.

Went to see the area put aside for it behind the Ninian Stand after the SLO meeting last week. Looks as it it will be very good when complete but a lot of work still to be completed yet as time and money allows. There is a vast space behind that stand which has yet to be fitted out.

That was the reason why there was more hooliganism in the 2nd half, everyone had ingested the testosterone smell from the urine.
