But one of the ultimate ways to stop crime is to make it less profitable. Thats all it is. Its a trade in people who want to go to another country.

The naivity is incredible.

Sounds like the measures to joint measures to deal with this broke down with France on Wednesday .

I wonder if France has any interest in stopping this .

I am baffled why so many migrants travel through so many wonderful Europe countries to get to us, many say we treat folk dreadfully ??

The mayor of Calais summed it up for me when interviewed a month or so ago ( "if you didn't make it so inviting they would not cross" ) so it begs the question how are they treated on mainland Europe and France , what don't they get in France that forces them to our shores , are they treated that badly , are they victimised ??

What the French do is intercept the boats in the channel and then escort them further across, leaving them in British waters for us to deal with. All they are interested in is getting rid.

Are the human traffickers here just the people supplying the boats for the asylum seekers or have you evidence of a different type of human trafficking going on in large numbers via boats on the channel?

Slavery, mafia, human trafficking, selling lies to migrants, no controls or ID over who enters.

It's a trade in human misery and it needs stopping.

the French have already stated that they will try to prevent boats from launching, and stop the criminal gangs, but will not stop boats that have already launched as that could be dangerous and lead to loss of life.
if they are floundering and request help them they will if course save them.

that seems to be a sensible approach to take, surely nobody wants anyone to needlessly die because of this?

People seeking asylum here are made of largely of people from Afghanistan, syria, Iraq and Iran.

The U.K. already takes less than France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Maybe if we set up a more official way of seeking asylum in the U.K. rather than ignoring it and trying not to do our bit we wouldn’t need a callous **** of an MP trying this PR bullshit.

The point is, there is a formal and proper way to do this, and this isnt it.

I would agree that the UK should take it's fair share of migrants and I agree in humanitarian rescues of people in danger (notable how few mentioned the UK's airlifts from Kabul).

The point is that you cannot have a system that allows anyone to enter without any checks or controls and in a way that empowers and emboldens the trade in human trafficking.

The current system is NOT working. Something needs to change. At least now you have come up with some ideas instead of just insulting me, so thats progress at least.
