Foggy memory by me then, I do recall it was pretty tame by London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool standards. I do know that because I was working in Ely at the time.

I was about 10/11 at the time. My old man was working the riots. Never really said much about it - other than a petrol bomb landed at his feet and frightened the life out of him.
