Re: Rambo 'put up for sale'
Ramsey and Bale's careers are remarkably similar. Poached by North London clubs as teenagers, outstanding performances in the premier league followed big move to European Giants where they're hated by the supporters and suffer consistent injuries.
He will likely dig his heels in just like Bale and eek out that lucrative contract rather than move somewhere he can get regular football...

you can't compare their experiences with their respective European giantsOriginally posted by 198bore View PostRamsey and Bale's careers are remarkably similar. Winning it for them v Liverpool, that overhead kick was phenomenal. Ramsey hasn’t done anything since he left arsenal, bale achieved everything after he left.Originally posted by Rjk View Postyou can't compare their experiences with their respective European giants

And both seemingly on the slide in terms of performance at the ages of 32 and 30 , an age where a lot of footballers have plenty left under the bonnet ?Originally posted by 198bore View PostRamsey and Bale's careers are remarkably similar. Ramsey had a pretty major injury at a young age, that usually has a long term impactOriginally posted by life on mars View PostAnd both seemingly on the slide in terms of performance at the ages of 32 and 30 , an age where a lot of footballers have plenty left under the bonnet ?

Re: Rambo 'put up for sale'
Bale is Real's 17th all time top scorer and has won more CLs than Manchester United. I think he's done OK in Madrid.Originally posted by 198bore View PostRamsey and Bale's careers are remarkably similar. Re: Rambo 'put up for sale'
At the risk of being slaughtered on here I would imagine that both are viewed as damaged goods and only the brave would look to risk serious money on either.
Newcastle would now fall into that category as they will probably be under pressure to make a marquee signing , if only, as a declaration of intent.
However, neither can realistically been seen as players to build a side around now but as a magnet for other players to consider a club then that may be a factor.
