Had the worst night ever there, hardly slept a wink, paid about £150 with some of the worst food I’ve ever had. Lovely view the m4 mind

Big charity event on Friday evening on there. My Mrs is going
I think they are building a hotel in Westgate Street.
The old post office building.
I too had the shitest food ever in the Celtic Manor Hotel and also a great view of the M4.
When it first opened it was pretty good
They used to do some deals where you could get a room and dinner for two for about 150 quid.
I did it once or twice and was good value.
However I went for dinner there two years ago when I was back in Wales and the food was absolutely terrible... Really poor... And everything looked a bit run down.
Just supply and demand, probably sold most rooms so can hike the price up. Bet its not that proce normally.
Never stayed there personally but always had good experience with food, parties, golf etc.
Its just too close to where i live so pointless ever staying there.
That'll be the Parkgate hotel. Same company as the Celtic Manor it seems and prices to match

Always found the food good in the main hotel but once had awful meal in Newbridge on Usk restaurant and when I complained the arrogance was breathtaking. Ironically I could clearly see another customer struggling with their own inedible lunch and suggested they complain too.
