    MICK AND THE CLUB?

Could there be on going talks regarding a pay off?
Mick won't want to lose much on the contract remaining and the club will want to pay him off as little as possible..
How long do these scenario's take

I’m pretty positive they want him gone, it’s all about the settlement.

I'm sure that Dave jones was on 800k when he was with us, so 900 wouldn't be out of the question. I think slade was on 250k. I'd prefer Slade to Mad Mick.

I'd imagine more than a few managers in the championship are on a few million a year.

The biggest problem with Slade was that when we won, it didn't feel like a win. Bored senseless.

    From August 2020:

"The highest-paid Championship manager was reportedly paid 3.46 million pounds a year, with an average across the division of 878,000 pounds a year."

Noddy, Dave, Jim and Don could all do a better job than McCarthy is doing currently! Of that I am sure

    Cheers

Edit... The best paid player in the report earned an annual salary of 3.54 million pounds, or 294,666 pounds a month. The figures from the 2019-20 season do not include win bonuses or other payments.

According to several sources online the average Championship salary is currently £29,000 per week. That would equate to £45 million for a typical squad of 30.
There are some published figures for the 2019/20 season, and that figure seems about right. I was going to comment incredible, but madness seems more appropriate.

    2: £92.2m - West Brom
    3: £90.7m - Swansea City
    4: £62.6m - Huddersfield
    5: £54.3m - Fulham
    6: £48.7m - Middlesbrough
    7: £46.4m - Cardiff City
    8: £40.4m - Derby
    9: £38.5m - Birmingham
    10: £35.3m - Reading
    11: £31.3m - Leeds

Not sure who was in the league at that time but 300k a month is roughly 75k a week which is scare, but makes sense considering teams coming down a league.

Thankfully ours HAS to be a lot less than that now.
