Losing 2-1 to North Macedonia and currently 5th in their group out of 6.
What went wrong there?

Isnt Sigurdsson still missing as well. Their best player I believe.
It could just be that the bubble has burst. They bombed out of the World cup in 2018 and their qualification campaign for Euro 2020 wasn't as strong, ultimately losing late on in a playoff final. They lost 6 out of 6 in the Nations League and were relegated. This time around the only side they've beaten in qualifying is Lichtenstein.
Ultimately they were a bit of an unknown quantity going into Euro 2016 and surprised a lot of people. It's over 5 years since that tournament. That's a long time in football. I look at how much the Welsh squad has changed since then. I also wonder what effect playing in Nations League A will have on us.
Is nobody going to mention all the kiddy fiddling and sexual abuse allegations!?

I’ll never forget that game when they put England out mind

Always worth another watch!
The question should be what happened to them in 2016 and 2018 because that was incredible for a country of their size. I think I’m right in saying they were quite an old side even then, their most creative, and best, player has been unavailable lately and their style of play was, I would say, a fairly easy one to counter once they became good enough for sides to be less complacent when facing them.
We’ll end up going the same way once Ramsey and Bale retire
It's not just about Sigurdsson. A number of players linked including Gunnarsson. The Icelandic FA under massive pressure for how they've handled it, players not turning up to play for various reasons and the fans turning their back on the team due to all the noise around it. Think we'll hear a lot more about it in the next 12 months tbh.
I had no idea either, I'm surprised this hasn't been a bigger story
