Re: Benitez Gone
This. It's hard to believe they hadn't considered sacking him before January 1st. Just pull the ****ing trigger. I can't believe that clubs are not looking for alternative managers at all times. It should be someone's job.Originally posted by chrisp_1927 View PostCan't believe how much money they've wasted. Now they've let Benitez sell a good player in digne, and spend 25mill on replacements just before being sacked.

So every club should employ someone to constantly research potential managers. That'll instill confidence and camaraderieOriginally posted by NYCBlue View PostThis. It would be foolish for a club not to have a list of potential managers at all times, anything can happen.Originally posted by A Quiet Monkfish View PostSo every club should employ someone to constantly research potential managers. That'll instill confidence and camaraderie

Re: Benitez Gone
It doesn't have to be an open secret. But would it not make sense? It would have saved us from Mick McCarthy. It may have saved us from being relegated from the EPL if we had a competent manager at that level lined up.Originally posted by A Quiet Monkfish View PostSo every club should employ someone to constantly research potential managers. Re: Benitez Gone
Couldn't agree more. Sometimes when managers are sacked and a replacement arrives the following day, people criticise the club for going behind the incumbent's back. I just don't understand that. Surely performance evaluation is ongoing. Where performance is going well, someone should have a shortlist of replacements in the event the current guy is poached. If it's going badly, you'd hope a club would, as a minimum, start talking to people on that list before getting rid of the incumbent.Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostIt doesn't have to be an open secret. Our club isn't very well run any more so this sort of basic contingency planning is a pipe dream. But surely other clubs must think this way.

Re: Benitez Gone
Can’t recall the Everton owners name, but he must have learnt his trade in the same place as our vinnie, absolutely clueless when it comes to running a football club and it’s cost him half a billion already I hear….Originally posted by willo1927 View PostThis was never going to work with his comments about them in the past.
Why do chairmen/boards never listen to fans?
