But it never really works. The idea that one hard working but low scoring centre forward occupies the central defenders to such an extent that other players fill their boots with goals never really happens in practice. We play with so few up front it would be a recipe for disaster.
Do we only play with so few upfront though because the ones we have aren't strong enough to hold the ball up?
it isn't a hill I'm going to die on as I'm certainly not looking for a return to route one football, but It might not be as bad a signing as it being made out, for that kind of money. If only as an option from the bench.
One interesting thought - what if this is as well as Kieffer instead of as a replacement.
Moore and Ikpeazu in the middle, Colwill or Davies in behind with Giles and Drameh providing the crosses.

Uche Ikpeazu?
A friend just told me that he's read we are showing interest in striker Uche Ikpeazu?
I'm not to familiar with him so wondered if we are would he be a good replacement for Moore if it was true?
Anyone know if he's decent
Like I said..you said your mate told you...
Morison at this afternoon's press conference:
Boro confirmed about Uche?
Yeah he is a player who did well against us previously.
We have looked at loads of options, we need help.
It’s not something we are going to be able to do. They want a permanent deal and we are not in that market.
It was over very, very quickly.
No chance of Ikpeazu?
I couldn’t believe it. I had a quick chat and within 10 minutes it was all in the press!
It started and ended, nothing is happening. Not a lot more to say. You’re not going to see him come through the door.
We're interested in loaning Hugill apparently
No Moore on Sunday either. Convenient.

From press conference this afternoon:
Kieffer Moore fit?
He is not fit to play.
His future?
As far as I know he will be here next week. He is not fit or ready to start a game of football.
He came back into training last week.
He had to have an injection in his ankle over the weekend.
He has to tick boxes before he can come back into full training.
