I like him, he's a good politician. Leadership however is quite a different kettle of fish.

From what I know of Tom Tugendhat (which admittedly is not a great deal) he would be a better choice than many of the more well known likely candidates.
The fact that he has never held a senior ministerial job may count against him, but he has been chair of the powerful Foreign Affairs Committee since 2017
And there has apparently (according to the Telegraph) there is a long standing dislike between him and Boris Johnson

He didn't serve as a front line combat solider his main role was a Territorial Army lieutenant colonel .
Yes he us well during the Iraq and in Afghanistan.
He also served, in a civilian capacity, for the Foreign Office in Afghanistan and helped set up the National Security Council of Afghanistan and the government in Helmand Province.
He's a good honest type so no good as PM
