The Russians haven't gained the kind of air superiority that would allow them to bomb parts of Ukraine in the manner that they would like to. However, Kyiv and other cities are certainly coming under heavy artillery fire.

I think Russia will try to get the Ukrainian leader, if they kill him then they can pull back and claim their mission is complete, perhaps installing a puppet leader in his place.
