Jeez - wasn't expecting to wake up to this news this morning.
RIP
BBC News - Taylor Hawkins: Foo Fighters' drummer dies aged 50
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-60884259
Shocking, sudden and only 50
He's never looked well and always battled substance misuse
Great drummer
Sad news RIP
Not a huge fan but they had the spirit..sad loss , too soon
Wow tragic and sad irony for Dave Grohl who was the drummer for Nirvana when Kurt left .
These rock drummers live a very fast life, their physical efforts are crazy when playing live, makes you wonder what keeps them going , and dying so young .
RIP Taylor..... thoughts go to band, family and friends..
He was an excellent drummer and id imagine it will be tough for Dave Grohl to deal with who had to deal with loss of Kurt Cobain in possibly similar circumstances as there has been no official statement on cause.
Have tickets to see them in June but there has to be doubts about that happening now .
Grohl should obviously take the drum thone and beat the shite out his songs. It would be the best way to pay respect to Talyor
Just seen the mail on line and those scumbags have photos of the hearse taking Taylors body away, only obscured by someone holding a sheet up !! How low......
Still getting high at 50 - not a good look.
Gutted when hearing the news this morning.
Excellent drummer when you consider the pressure he must have been under to impress Dave Grohl to get the job.
Though back to a little spatt he had with Axl Rose years ago.
Axl was trying to wind him up and asked Taylor "what's its like to be the second best drummer in the Foo Fighters?"
Quick as a flash Talor asked him
"Probably the same as being shit without Slash in Guns n Roses" 😃
Toxicology reports 5 different chemicals in his system.. Including Smack. Charlie, Pot and Alcohol.
When Guns n Roses first hit the scene they were immense.
Saw their Monsters of Rock performance at Donnington and they blew everyone else away.
Unfortunately too many loose cannons in the band.
Steven Adler was sacked soon after for hitting the booze and drugs too hard and Axl and Slash were at each others throats.
Great double album followed but then Izzy Stradlin left and he was the unsung hero of the band.
Did the donkey work on most of their best songs.
Never got anywhere near Appetite for Distruction and Use your illusion 1 and 2
after that.
