    Apparently ditch the sit ups and do squats , they use up more calories around the middle

    Don’t do them then mate. Cross trainer is great for low impact movement which gets the whole body moving. Body weight lunges engage a lot more of the body than you think.

    If something hurts (too badly) or you don’t enjoy it….don’t do it.

    Agree with Underhill1927 in above comment.

    In athletics, the key coaches’ words was stress, not distress. In other words it is okay to stress yourself in training, but NEVER go as far as distress.

    Don’t stress yourself more than 2 or 3 times a week at the start of a new training regime. You have the rest of your lives to get fit.

    That's correct , my diet is the problem

    Can't go out in this heat though , was out walking at 6 am and even then had to give up , very uncomfortable

    I can't do sit ups or the plank even press ups cause me back pain

    I'll be very honest - I do very little exercise. I walk a fair bit, but I could do probably do a lot more. But... two guys in my office have had heart attacks in recent weeks, and guess what? They were the two super-fit runners, always at the gym, etc. It's not always the best way. Exercise is good in moderation.

    Jimmy The Jock is the one to ask when it concerns rambling walks, there isn't a mountain he hasn't scaled, he's like a different man to the one I used to attend away games with
