Apparently ditch the sit ups and do squats , they use up more calories around the middle

In athletics, the key coaches’ words was stress, not distress. In other words it is okay to stress yourself in training, but NEVER go as far as distress.
Don’t stress yourself more than 2 or 3 times a week at the start of a new training regime. You have the rest of your lives to get fit.

I'll be very honest - I do very little exercise. I walk a fair bit, but I could do probably do a lot more. But... two guys in my office have had heart attacks in recent weeks, and guess what? They were the two super-fit runners, always at the gym, etc. It's not always the best way. Exercise is good in moderation.
