It all goes hand in hand when the Board has such a direct influence on the team and the club, especially these days..

The club provided a commercial plane. Not their fault the player decided not to use it. Also they had nothing to do with the plane that was used. Cardiff City have done nothing wrong. Others have. Hard to understand why some can't see that.

Agreed, hard to see how the club are at fault, any moreso than Nantes.
What is very clear however, is that blame should certainly lie with 3 people at least. McKay, Henderson and Ibbotson.
I would also want to question Warnock's involvement with McKay in the first place given that we all know McKay shouldn't have been involved in any transfer dealings at that point, and Warnock knew exactly what kind of dodgy agent he was dealing with. The whole footballing world above a certain age will be well aware of McKay's reputation...

    Ibbotson is no longer here.
Henderson's 18 month sentence is pathetic given he knew that plane was in a bad condition, and he knew the "mucker" he was recruiting was not carrying current and up-to-date clearances to carry out such a flight.

As for McKay, it appears that Henderson was his contact. He is therefore directly responsible for the employment of "Shady Airlines Inc", and should surely be held accountable also?
Incredibly, both he and Warnock have scuttled away without even hardly being questioned.

The whole thing stinks really. How on earth can people like this be allowed to risk the lives of others with little to no consequence?

I also agree that the club are not at fault.

However, we know that the transfer committee turned down Warnock's request to buy Sala and, not accepting that decision, Warnock went over the heads of Choo and Dalman to Tan and persuaded him to overrule their decision.

    https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...alman-21950687

As a consequence of that decision events unfolded tragically. In my view the club are not culpable in any way for the subsequent flight arrangements.

Now CAS have determined that (subject to possible further appeal), contractually he was our player. So, we may have to stump up the Ł15m

Are we insured ? Who knows ? If not, and we have to pay the Ł15m who can we recover it from ? Seemingly not Nantes as he was no longer their player. Not from an undischarged bankrupt agent and I don't suppose Henderson has got Ł15m to spare. We may just have to find the cash increasing our indebtedness for no return. The accountants on here can, no doubt, clarify. So, could Tan's decision to back Warnock and go against the views of his Transfer Committee be the biggest "Sliding Doors" moment in the history of CCFC ?

There was a lot of shady stuff going on with that deal in my opinion.
Tan was getting fitted up by Warnock and others in the same way that he was by Malky with Cornelius.
