I don't understand why Sol's odds are so short - unless Paul Abbandonato put a fiver on him after that ridiculous piece he wrote early last week.

I love Sol - he was fantastic for us on and off the pitch, a genuine nice guy and a fighter (not least against his illness).

But I don't think he is anything special as a pundit - his analysis of games is basic at best. He has virtually no experience. He would have to learn on the job and make all his biggest mistakes at the CCS. It would be a crazy gamble to give him such a big job at this stage.

In five years time it might be a totally different story.
