What’s the dollar/pound exchange rate at the moment?

Re: 3 Hot Dogs 2 Cokes 37 bucks

I paid $9.80 for a bottle of juice yesterday. I had no idea it cost that much until my card was actually in the reader, the price just flashed up. I said to the kid behind the counter "did that just say $9.80?" he just said "yup".

Never understood why people want to buy that rubbish

Just noticed that you can't take food or drink into the Principality Stadium for the Supercross today. Went to the Wales game at CCS on Thursday with food and flasks of hot chocolate as well as a water bottle for taking meds. F*cking ripoff prices for junk food and drink. They can do one.

I’ve never seen the logic in charging these ridiculous prices. There’s tellies everywhere down the City, charge a reasonable price for stuff, get fans in early on a Saturday to watch the early Premier League or Championship game.

Re: 3 Hot Dogs 2 Cokes 37 bucks

There were a few families with two kids buying burgers, drinks, sweets, crisps etc at CSS on Thursday and I estimated they were spending £50/£60 on top of the price of ticket and travel. Crazy money.

If I spent that much, it would definitely put my account in the red.

I wouldn't spend that much even if we signed legends in their prime like Barry Venison.

It wouldn’t work imo. The early kick off finishes 2:20ish. I’d prefer to be in one of the many places in Canton and getting to the CCS 15/20 mins before kick off. Hanging around for 40mins under the stand wouldn’t appeal to me regardless of prices. Especially without seats or tables, it’s just not a very enjoyable space to be for an extended time, which tbf no stadium concourses are.

It might be that I’m extremely tight but I’ve never understood the logic in this. I always go with enough food and drink to keep the kids going for a few days beyond the game. Even where I’ve been caught out for time I’ll go to McDonald’s or the burger van on sloper road (nice fella that city fan). It’s not like games are even lunch time

Surely people expect the high prices? And judging by the queues they don’t mind. Just one thing thats always puzzled me. In my mind the money wasted on that is another day out another time. More money than sense, more money than me that’s for sure

In the early 80’s I used pay 50p for the Ninian Park special return bus trip from Blackwood. On the gate it was £1 with a dole card (UB40) to get into the Bob Bank and about a £1 for a pie and and a Bovril at half time. A day out down the City for £2.50
