I make it that Madley has taken charge of twenty one games involving Welsh teams. He's done games involving us the jacks and Newport and there have been five wins for the Welsh, five draws and eleven defeats. I don't think that's enough to justify any anti Welsh allegations, but since his "second coming" after he was dropped from the Premier League, Welsh teams have really struggled with him in charge - I make it that the last ten games have seen one Welsh win and a couple of draws. One of those draws was in the last City match which Madley refereed before Saturday - the 0-0 draw with Reading that confirmed our promotion in 17/18. As Madley has mostly been officiating in the lower divisions in recent seasons, it's Newport who have suffered the most at his hands - they've lost every game they've played with him in charge, one of which came after his shocking handling of their Play Off Final.

I think you are forgetting Wembley 1927!
Seriously though, it may not even be football related. His ex-wife may have been Welsh.
She may have run off with a Welshman or he may have been on the wrong end of the law with South Wales police.
Perhaps he's pissed he's had to pay the bridge toll for years.
One thing is for sure, he's a Kent!
