Match Facts
- This is the first FA Cup meeting between Cardiff and Leeds since January 2002, with then third tier Cardiff winning 2-1 against the Whites, who were top of the Premier League. At the time, it was the first time a side top of the top-flight had lost to a team from outside the top-two divisions in the FA Cup since February 1971, also Leeds against Colchester United of the fourth tier.
- All four times Leeds have been eliminated from the FA Cup by Cardiff City has come in the third round, doing so in three consecutive seasons between 1955-56 and 1957-58 and also 2001-02. Only three fixtures have seen a team knock out another more often in the FA Cup third round: Man Utd vs Reading (6), Man City vs Leicester (6) and Man Utd vs Aston Villa (8).
- Leeds have lost their last six matches in the FA Cup, a run stretching back to January 2017. Only once have they lost more consecutive games in the competition, losing seven in a row between 1955 and 1961, a run that included three defeats in a row against Cardiff.
- This is Leeds United's 10th consecutive away match in the FA Cup, stretching back to January 2016. They are only the second team in FA Cup history to play 10 away games in a row, after Stockport County between 1996 and 2001 (11).
- As a Championship side, Cardiff are winless in their last nine FA Cup matches against Premier League teams (D2 L7) since a 2-0 away win at Middlesbrough in March 2008, going on to reach the final that year.
I'm going tomorrow. Going to the Grange before and after the game. Will I really have to walk via Clare Rd and Ninian Park Rd to get to the ground and reverse to get back after the game?
Sounds a bit draconian.
Hard to work out if Cardiff fans can or can’t walk down Sloper Road.
“Cardiff fans will be asked” what does asked mean in this context? A polite “we’d prefer you to go another way round” or “you can’t come this way”.
Not worth a separate thread, but for those interested......

btw...like the away kit, very classy. Even that is better than ours...
Got to be honest this is probably the least interested in a Cardiff match I've been for years. Literally couldn't give a single toss about this game, just hope no one gets injured.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bet on us losing but I just looked and Leeds are even money. I expected them to be 1/2. Sadly, I’m fully expecting to be $100 better off later today.
I was starting to think we might have a chance, then I saw our starting line up.
so is this an "opportunity" for some players
oh dear dear...what a line up.....I think I will need a second bottle of wine to drift into oblivion.....
This is a joke is it not???
Weird line up. Probably more attacking than usual but likely to be overrun in midfield.
Alnwick hasn't even been on the bench for weeks but starts, Luthra has been on the bench but is nowhere to be seen and Allsop and Benjamin from the U16s make it 2 keepers on the bench.
And Tanner's on the bench too despite being reportedly off to York on loan.

I hope this totally back fires and makes me look stupid but WTF is that team.
Its a shocker of a line up. At least Davies gets vital minutes. Central midfield and defence will get destroyed.
Illness throughout the camp is the reason. Colwill pulled out this morning.
can someoine put the team on please or shouldnt i look
ok just seen it on the titter link
