I’d guess something like half of our games this season have been labelled must win. You never know, we may actually win one some day.

Staying up isn't that hard - we just need to do better than the teams below us for the rest of the season (stating the obvious, I know). We're all talking about six or seven wins required, but that might not be the case. Okay, we'll have to win some, if we want to stay up, but the bar could be a lot lower than we think.
That's my one little spark of optimism right there, and I'm sticking to it.

Trouble is we have to figure out how to score first

It's a "must play well" game.....or "must see some improvements in terms of individual and collective performance".

We will not be cut adrift if we lose so factually speaking it's not a "must win".

As Lamouchi said in his press conference, he needs the fans to be behind the team and he needs to help the players improve their performances.

A goal or two would be nice but it's not essential if there are signs of improvement in general terms.

I think we have to give the new manager the type of time that was afforded to Morison and Hudson.... or at least three of four games for him to start implementing his ideas.

    It's not going to happen

I think he's a good appointment as is bamba but it's too late

He should have been given the job instead of Hudson

Unlikely Kaba will be in the team (although he will be 'on the bus').

O'Dowda over his illness and training.

we actually scored 2 against them last time, so there's a chance.

of course, we conceded 3, I was convinced we won't go on to win once we went ahead, we had a period of 10 minutes or so where we looked a completely different side, playing with heads up and confidence.

then 2 identikit goals in a minute and game over

Hull are playing well. Another defeat beckons.

If Lamouchi doesn't start O'Dowda on the left wing after Tuesday night's performance, then he's not the man for the job.

Really? Who would 'the man for the job' play at left back?

If not O'Dowda the options are not good: Bagan who seems out of form and low on confidence, but probably fit, Simpson who looked way off it at Luton, Ng on the wrong side (and Sang at right back?), or Ralls (who has covered in the distant past but would be another square peg in a round hole). Even if he goes with wing backs and three central, the options are not good if O'Dowda is pushed back up the pitch. The next off the rank from the u21s has just gone out on loan.

We need a left back on a free - even if that means one not up to speed yet.

He has to play Bagan there, if fit he's our only proper lb.

We've struggled more going forward and whilst no one has looked great in advanced positions for us I do think O'Dowda offers a bit more balance and workrate on the wing than the other options we have.

Golden opportunity for Bagan if he can take it, as the only fit LB at the club unless you count O'Dowda who has to play further forward if we're going to start scoring goals. Can Lamouchi or Bamba restore some confidence and form? If not that's surely it with his contract up in the summer.

I like O'Dowda coming from deep.

If Bagan was to play though he would have O'Dowda in front of him which would help him settle in and know he's got someone to come back and help him defensively while he gains his confidence back.

We don't know what's going on with Bagan though do we, pthere's a reason he isn't being played and nobody on a MB is going to have the first clue as to why, although we'll hear a million speculative posts...

    Okay, I'll begin...

He (Bagan) isn't very good defensively.

Basically we absolutely need to get anything other than a loss in this game. The reason for this is an improvement needs to be seen on our results (not performance). We can play rubbish for allI care but we need a result a point or 3. Every single player on the pitch who is picked to play needs to give more and it’s not just about doing more, it’s about being effective in what they are doing aswell. Abit of confidence and belief in their ability that they can score and can win will help. The new manager needs to find a way that this squad can grind out results because yes we haven’t got the quality of many championship teams but I believe the team can do better than they are doing now. We need points and it doesn’t matter how we go about getting them. 0-0 if we can’t score but ultimately we need to start getting goalsto convert these looses and draws into wins. Tbh we aren’t that far off getting this and with a new player added up front hopefully we can grind out some results to get points on the board.

Bagan's playing for the U21s today so presumably won't be in the squad for Hull.

    Allsopp

    Ng
    McGuinness
    Kipre

    Davies
    Rino
    Wintle
    Ralls
    O'Dowda

    Robinson
Etete (if Kaba isn't good to go)

Would be my team. Think we might get something here, 1-0 City.

    Davies as a wing back?

Hence having someone in front of him to help him.

First press conference he said along the lines of not having tactics as such and suiting them to the players didn't he? Could mean he's flexible on formations when needs be as well
