Seeing as we have a thread about Warnock.

Should we ask Sabri to step aside if Jones is willing to come. Obviously its a big if with our transfer embargo.

We are almost certainly looking for a new manager in a few months.

We need some sort of long term plan to negotiate what will be a difficult season next year wherever we are. We need a major rebuild. Should we go for Jones now. ( he could be at Swansea soon)
Jones isn't going to walk back into a job, surely? He'll get a massive pay out from Southampton and probably wait until the summer to see what is out there.

If he thinks he’s one of the best managers in Europe why would he come to a league one bound club

He won't go to Swansea. His teams don't play "the Swansea way". Plus, the way he celebrated whenever Luton beat the jacks, I don't think he'd be keen either.

If he thinks that way, he’s seriously deluded. He’s damaged goods now. I wouldn’t take him on at the moment. There are better managers out there for sure.

    Re: Nathan Jones

Saw a stat earlier that said 11 different managers have gained Premier League points at St Mary's this season. Nathan Jones isn't one of them.

    Re: Nathan Jones

Surprised that 6 managers have lasted a shorter time in the PL including Brad Bobley. Les Reed, 41 days at Charlton holds the record

That's probably more difficult than the Southampton job.

It's Cardiff City that is damaged goods after what Tan has done to it.

If you think a manager of his quality would come anywhere near your club atm it's you that is deluded, especially if it's a league one club.

Why? You admitted yourself that we’re under no obligation to feel a sense of loyalty?

He was out of his depth in my opinion, doesn’t mean anything different just because he’s from the Rhondda.

It should do though. Like, it's normal for people to identify and be proud of people who have emerged from their area to achieve some success. There are reasons to defend the guy. The squad he inherited is obviously not very good. So maybe he is out of his depth, or maybe he had very little to work with.

Maybe it's a Cardiffian thing ?? Are they generally snidely towards Valleys people or something ??

    I hear he's a Liverpool fan

Not a snidey thing I don't think. I'm not from the Rhondda and so unless he's competing for Wales I'm as indifferent about him as I would be someone from a town near bristol. Plenty of people from Cardiff I'd equally be as indifferent towards.

Is he a city fan? That would possibly be a bit different.

His skatty media interviews aside Jones seems ok enough. Big job for him, didn't stand much chance and should probably just stick to Luton when they next call on him, seems to do good work there.

But the whole you have to support a fellow welshie I've never really understood and people then usually pick and choose depending on how far west you go.

Not at all mate. Plenty of my good mates are from the Rhondda and I lived in Blackwood for years.

I found him cringy by the end, and clearly out of his depth.

Sorry if it’s already been posted, but interesting insight from Ashley hones about his time at Stoke
