I didn't "want" you to say anything Eric, and I wasn't trying to guide you to say anything in particular either, for the record.
I didn't say, either, that people with money aren't allowed an opinion!
Every man with the ability to vote is (obviously) entitled to cast a vote, and voice their opinion.
You're getting very defensive about wealthy people from working class backgrounds, is that the category you put yourself in?
It makes no odds to me what you have, or who you are, I just think some people are so far removed from reality that it's f*cking criminal.
It's all good when you own a little castle and can afford private healthcare.
It's really not good when you can't afford neither. Sometimes, people with those things, need to remember that there are MANY without those things
Eric wanted to turn it into a political shit-storm, read the thread.
Yet again, anybody who disagrees, is "right wing", it's getting tedious as f*ck on here lately, to be honest.
I've been labelled "right wing" myself, despite posting NOTHING that would suggest that being my stance.
I'm no f*cking wing, not right, not left, not even "centrist", I just think for myself.
It's what all of us "HYOOMAN'S" should do...
Instead of getting sucked in by political agenda's and bullshit, along with "social f*cking media".
I get the impression that MOTD and the pundits on there are seen by the likes of The Athletic and the other journos as lightweight...... and to an extent I'd agree.
That said, I find Lineker, Wright, Shearer, Murphy and Richards to be quite a likeable bunch , with totally sound observations on the whole. Bit of a blokey, lad-banter vibe, but that's not heir fault.
When I think of the other gangs on Sky and BT etc (Carra, Neville, Keane, Souness) I think the characters on the bbc are way more palatable.
BBC pundits can be annoying that clem Middlesbrough accent fella winds me up and shearer is on good money for saying nowt
Thank god lawrenson is out of a job mind
But ......when the Beeb lost the football to ITV I really couldn't watch it ......absolutely dreadful coverage
Sky is death as far as I am concerned . I don't have it and when I do see it I am glad I am not paying money for that .
Yesterday someone was saying lineker tweeted so he could leave the BBC for sky.
Now it's win the appeal against HMRC.
So many birds with one stone. What a mastermind this guy is, and to think we just thought he was a goal hanger.
I wasn't aware of his tax avoidance situation, but stick to my original comments, ie he knew exactly what he was doing with that post and the employment/legal implications of what reaction if any came from the BBC. It would be nice if just for a moment some people could bring him of that pedestal they've placed him on..
Help us out here, pip. It seems only a few short weeks ago that you announced your re-emergence breathlessly stating after the Reading game that "Last friday night walking back - I finally got the bug again hence why I re joined here".
Yet that was your first and last post on football. There may be a few cynics on here you may need to win over in convincing everyone you are an invigorating fresh new face rather than another silly persona off the conveyor belt.
First season 1976 - i was 9 years old - if that helps. I wasnt aware I had to meet a certain number of posts per week before i could post anything else. Up until very recently I'd rather not bother to talk about the level of football - but happy to engage you if you would like me to.
Was on this board - a long time ago, had enough of it. Came back on after the Reading game (well observed), went to the Brizzle game (if that helps you) . my son comes with me to most games now - so yes I have the bug again - and also like to chew the fat on other things - as most blokes do I guess.
Lineker his tax fine and appeal - the bbc decision will be in his favour (in my opinion) , my other opinion - he needs to decide if he is a punter or a politician just my 2p worth.
Apologies Pip for the challenge. We get a lot of rejoiners on here with a bit of a dubious back story.
Anyway, you are lucky to have rejoined a home of like minded people. By way of introduction there is RonnieBird (oh he stopped posting), HyperboreanCCFC (oh him as well). Ok there is Lither_1927 (oh, banned but still lurking), Wait, what about Clandestine and RedSetter (oh, just banned).
I guess you will just have to make do with the WalesBales/TWGL1 twins for company. Still who knows who might turn up next to keep you company? If someone does emerge you can bet your bottom dollar they will have shared "values" when they do so and a great rejoining tale to tell.
