What we know is that whilst outspending every other club, it's still been fairly minimal in the context of things. We know that the taxpayers were expected to pick up the tab for the redevelopment as Plan A. We know that a lot of money has been invested in players whose resale value may not go up. We know the standard of League Two has improved, look at Salford et al. We know that League One has some massive clubs, difficult to get out of. We know the Championship is tough.

The days of teams doing a Wimbledon have long gone.
I can see them going up from League 2 next season or at least challenging for promotion, a fair bit of their squad has no business being in non-league and are comfortably good League 2/lower League 1 players. Last season's champions Stockport are 3 points off promotion and this Wrexham side is better than last season's. League 1 is where they will really struggle

What helps Wrexham is that they are historically a league club and have more pull than your Salfords etc. I think Wrexham had 10,000 yesterday, that's more than a fair few League 1 clubs

Premier League? No chance. Bournemouth managed it because they had serious money behind them, far more than Reynolds & co

Who cares about Wrexham anyway? It's not like they're rivals. And I don't recall anyone having an affinity for them when they were in the same division as us.

The notion that it would take massive money to compete in the likes of League One and the Championship is utter nonsense. Luton Town are fourth in the Championship, for God's sake. Wycombe made it to the Championship. Rotherham are in the Championship. Blackpool are in the Championship. Meanwhile, Peterborough are 7th in League One. The mid-table sides in that division include Shrewsbury, Exeter, Fleetwood, Lincoln, Port Vale and Chelteneham.

Does anyone seriously believe that Wrexham couldn't compete with any of the above if the club was managed well and backed accordingly?

I don't. But given what is happening there they are undoubtedly an interesting point of discussion. Far more interesting than Robert Plant, TV signal senders or Tyson Fury, at least.

In 10 years time my thread about TV signal senders will be considered an all-time classic....

We should 100% concentrate on the City ahead of Wales, Wrexham, Newport and any other team.
Follow Wales by all means if you really have to, but remember this is a message board for Cardiff City. You can all post on Wales message boards about our international side if you are so inclined!

I make it that over half of the teams in League 1 and 2 have played in the second tier since 2000. There are a few sides no longer in the league as well who have competed in the division too.

Would be less lifeless on the moon if we only talked City on the board.

What even is there to talk about CCFC related at the moment? We’ve no immediately upcoming fixtures, no news from press conferences, next to nothing worthy of talking about from the other Championship clubs, etc.

I thought I was an infrequent poster but I took a look and you put me to shame. If everyone contributed as much as you this place would have died years ago. God knows what you think of the Sludge/Dembe exchanges 🤣

I'm pretty sure this Wrexham team will do back to back promotions if they go up this year.

They are on course to smash every Conference record, and competed very well vs Championship teams in Coventry and Sheff United in FA Cup already. They seem lower level League One to me right now.

Bournemouth also pissed all over FFP to get promoted to the Prem, slap on wrist afterwards.

I bet all of the other national League teams wish they'd thought of that

It mostly depends on who appoints the best Managers, appoint the right Managers and success follows, Swansea had a good run due to three good appointments in a row.

I think Tan is finally learning, we have a decent one now, we need to try and keep him and fund him and we can be a club on the up again.
