Yes, ban gambling ads. Ban smoking ads. Ban alcohol ads. Ban ads for crisps, chocolate, sweets, pop. Just ban ads altogether. People can't be trusted to control themselves, so ban all ads. In case someone gets addicted. To anything.

That's exactly the point, they make it look as normal as going for a walk, it's highly addictive, and young people can get into massive financial difficulty extremely quickly, they shouldn't be able to make gambling look like a cool thing to do.

Perhaps you should take a look at the queues of grown up adults at the City stadium every home match placing bets on the football and enjoying themselves doing so. It is their choice to do so and if they do so responsibly then there is no problem. It has always and will continue to happen, tv advertising or not.

Exactly that is up to them, but I do object to advertising making it look fun and cool for teenagers, it has been shown to have increased gambling addiction, as has tombola bingo-type advertising increased the number of women-addicted gamblers.

When I was young, I can't remember seeing fancy ads for football betting.
