Great film
Dated but great
Brutal in it's day.
As you say, great film.
That bit where he watches the porn film and realises the young girl in the film is his brothers only daughter ......and his brother was killed when he found out the mob had made the film
Very dark bit of cinema
That's the scene I always think of, all the audience are right behind Jack Carter for revenge.
Love the foot chase on the beach too, long and drawn out, full of tension.
The 'simple' score of the film provided no mean part in the tension, Human League used on their album "Dare".
Went to the infamous multi storey car park about 10 years ago. It had a protection order on it for a time but my sister says it's gone now. It was in Gateshead, only just across the Tyne from the quayside bit of Newcastle
Some pretty graphic violence for a film from 1971
I watched it as a kid of 14 or 15 and didn't understand the darkness behind it all
I watched The French Connection last night too and the car crash scene in that was pretty intense too considering its also over 50 years ago
Yeah, there's a clue in the title of the track.
It's called "Get Carter"
Granted its probably not your genre of music so you are absolved.
Still a great album in its own right though.
I think it was the first totally synthesised album to reach No1, might be wrong though.
Agreed, JC was a bit of a rotter.
Visited some of locations a few years ago. The longstairs and Ironbridge are much the same and The pub Carter goes to is opposite the station, still has some photos of the film by the bar.
Newcastle ......8 miles from the sea
Just goes to show how big a built up area it has around it
I've never seen Get Carter but, my bad, when I looked at the thread I thought it was about Get Smart.
I remember it as a small kid and it's been repeated a few times over the years. It was an American TV comedy series about a bungling agent called Maxwell Smart.
I wonder if anyone remembers it or has seen it. It was hilarious and before it's time in my opinion. It's probably available on You Tube.
