the sanction are the sanctions, so would be the same as the last time, I don't think there is a escalation built into the rule book.

Anyone on the trust know if the trust are asking the club for an answer as to whether we are going to pay on time as this could have major implications going forward if we don't?
I think we are trying to doing the right thing on the pitch with some of the signings but wouldn't want to see this all undone by not paying the fee as I assume the sanctions would be greater than those before?

From the Trust:
"It is very pleasing that the Aaron Ramsey signing is now over the line. I was very conscious of the fact that Mehmet Dalman and Steve Borley were very heavily involved in getting that deal done so I was reluctant to press on the issue that is still the elephant in the room - the repercussions of the Emiliano Sala transfer
The Club's litigation against Nantes is currently in its early stages in the French courts. However, it has now been confirmed to me by the Club that the instruction by FIFA to pay the remaining balance of the transfer fee will be complied with by the deadline set by the EFL which is 30 days from the date of their appeal decision.
This is indeed good news and should finally close all issues relating to embargoes but the litigation will continue.

Dear Member,

Sorry didn't spot earlier thread.
Wonder how VT has managed to find money, or is Dalman helping out?
He’s a billionaire (or thereabouts). He looked inside his wallet.
Trust members should know that another e-mail has just gone out to you on this subject.
Transfer fee now paid. Confirmed by email to Trust members
Litigation to contine though
Dear Member
Emiliano Sala
We wanted to make you aware that the Trust has been informed that Cardiff City FC has met the final payment due under the Emiliano Sala transfer to Nantes.
This means the club has complied with the instruction by FIFA and also means there is no risk of breaching the EFL ruling.
This is excellent news and brings to an end a very difficult time and also means that everyone at Cardiff City will be completely focused as we prepare for the new Championship season starting next month.

Great news, although I think City can feel hard done by in many ways.
Well done VT.
That’s great news. What will some opposing fans constantly bring up now?
Let's hope the BBC pick this up as they were quick enough to report we had been ordered to pay the remaining amount

Cardiff City today paid the 2nd and 3rd instalments of the transfer fee for Emiliano Sala, as recently ordered to do by FIFA.
This is despite there not yet being a judicial decision about FC Nantes’ liability for the crash. We continue to work towards those responsible being held accountable.
We look forward to the trial before the French court next year.
I don't think this will change the clubs approach to pursuing the matter through the courts though. Maybe they've seen what effect an embargo is having and want to avoid any further difficulties on that front?
Must have been galling for Tan to pay it but glad to see he has. Be interesting to see if any of it is recovered from Nantes or the insurance broker.
