Wasn't a clanger from Alnwick but David Marshall Neil Alexander or Neil etheridge would have saved that equaliser and it would have been seen as a regulation save. Where did Alnwick think it was going from the body position of the striker? Could see it a mile off.
Our keepers are awful.
like the look of of bowler, we need a new stand up and take charge type of player, a potential legend in the making...
im suprised as anyone we were 2 up, before the game id snap a point from this fixture, but wow leeds attack was relentless even though they struggled to put the ball away, the shots on target for them might be record breaking lol
Well that was mighty stressful but I'll take a point away at Leeds. Gnonto and Summerville were absolute nightmares to defend all game. You just knew one of them was going to come up with something.
I say again...Archie Gray ...making his debut at 17 for Leeds, looked a VERY good player.
Our target has to be 50 points. 49 to go.....
If we play like that 45 more times I think we'll stay up.
Take the positives out of that, and there were a few. 1st half we competed well enough, got behind Leeds, something they couldn't do to us all game. We defended brilliantly. McGuiness's anticipation was excellent, put himself in really good positions. For all of their possession, Leeds couldn't play through us. A set piece and a nice bounce followed by an excellent finish in the 95th minute. There was some structure there, we were trying to play. It would have been easy for us to whack the ball out of defence, and i think that if we did then we'd have seen a different scoreline. We are fit, very fit, hardly any flagging after a bit of a possession onslaught. I'm very happy with that. Ralls going off was a blow, he was in that game.
Much better result than was expected. Disappointing to lose the lead in the last couple of minutes but lots of positives to build on. Good performances from McGuiness, O'Dowda and Bowler in particular. Still some work to be done though.
I wonder if a possible experiment with O'Dowda taking Grant's place and Collins taking over at full back might work? Adams not as good as Ralls IMO.
Obviously deflating at the end.
But it’s a great point.
Leeds will dominate a lot of teams this season.
McGuiness was immense, Alnwick looked better than Alsopp, Bowler looks good and Ugbo did a great job.
Grant was anonymous, but you can’t judge him when we had do little of the ball.
Sadly not convinced with Adams and I don’t know what Rinomhota was trying to do, dribbling into trouble the few times he had the ball.
I’ve watched 4 games live so far. I’d rank the teams
1. Southampton
2. Leeds
3. Leicester
4. Coventry
5.Blackburn
6. WBA
7. Us
8. Sheff Weds
Gonna be a long season I think. Good point today
